The Spindle Geometry Tool allows you to rapidly add spindle geometry to all tool holders within a chosen tool library. Modeling the spindle along with the tool holder enables CAM programmers to take advantage of the collision detection features of Autodesk Fusion 360 and potentially avoid costly machine collisions.

Description:
This tool adds selected spindle geometry to all tool holders in a library. The tool holders should include all geometry up to the gauge line for the most accurate real-world representation. Ensure all selected libraries are in the proper JSON (.json) format. This tool was tested using the Autodesk Fusion 360 version 19 tool library JSON format. It is not guaranteed to work with any other library version. It is designed to work on Microsoft Windows 11 and is not guaranteed to work with any other version of Microsoft Windows.
This tool is being offered free of charge and we will be adding additional features in the future. If you find this tool useful and would like to help further its development, tipping a few bucks will be a tremendous help and be greatly appreciated.
Thank You!

Instructions:
1. In the Fusion 360 Tool Library, model the machine spindle as accurately as possible. Note: The tool will only use the first model in the library. It is best to have just one spindle model per library to ensure the tool works correctly.
2. Open the tool and click the select button to choose the spindle file containing the spindle geometry.
3. Click the select button to choose the tool library containing the target tool holders.
4. Click convert to add the spindle geometry to the target tool holders. It will also add the spindle's description to the tool holder's description for easy identification of converted tool holders.
5. Save the new library file. By default, "_converted" is added to the end of the file name. Change the name, if necessary, but ensure it is saved in the same directory as the original library files. Note: For Autodesk Fusion 360 in Microsoft Windows 11, the default local library location is:
C:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\CAM360\libraries\Local
6. Open the Fusion 360 Tool Library to verify the new library and spindle geometry were loaded correctly.
7. The error log for this tool is in the directory in which it was executed. For example, if the tool is executed in your downloads folder, check that folder for "spin_geo_tool.log". It is a plain text file.
